Born in Liverpool and now based in London, Katie Mooney is a self taught artist whose practice draws from a deep entanglement with the natural world, informed by a background in conservation and museology.

Having worked at renowned institutions such as the V&A and Natural History Museum, her work straddles both scientific inquiry and poetic speculation, challenging rigid taxonomies through which we attempt to order the living world around us. Her epistemological focus arose whilst gaining her BSc in Biology and the History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Leeds.
